"Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent."
- Victor Hugo

MY APPROACH

A conductor's job is to help many people sound like one. I try to do that with clear gestures, sensible rehearsal and a sense of humour.

Clear

Simple beat, clear cues and no mystery about what I want.

Efficient

Rehearsal time is precious, so we spend it where it matters.

Kind

Players give their best when they feel safe to make mistakes.
